Price of new eSIM number
10 Euro
After purchasing a new eSIM number and receiving the QR code for scanning and configuration on your device, you are required to enter a PIN.
eSIM PIN: The PIN of any new eSIM is 0000 (four zeros) and must be entered the first time the eSIM is configured on your phone and when your phone is reset.
PUK: PUK is the Personal Unlock Code and is used as a safeguard against unauthorized use of the eSIM. If the PIN Code is entered incorrectly three times, your phone will ask for the PUK code to activate the eSIM. This code is recorded on the QR code form that is provided with the purchase of the Vala eSIM.
Content and lifecycle of the new number with eSIM
The new number contains a starter package which includes:
300 minutes for calls on Vala and other operators
300 SMS on Vala and other operators
4GB internet for use within the Vala network
The validity period of the package is 30 days
The validity period of the number (active status) is 90 days
Life cycle of the account with top-up (eSIM)
All Prepaid numbers, during their life cycle, go through the following stages:
Valid: A number will have the status “Valid” from the moment of its purchase until the moment when the first call is made to the number 161. That is, until the first call is made to the number 161, the number will remain in the status “Valid” for 100 days.
Active: After the first call is made (to the number 161) from the newly purchased number, the number switches to the status “Active” and is valid for 90 days. After this period, if the customer does not top up the account, the number or eSIM will switch to the status “Inactive”.
Inactive: This status lasts 15 days and during this period the customer cannot make outgoing activities (calls, SMS, internet), but can receive calls and SMS. With the next recharge of any value from 1 euro to 50 euros, the status returns to “Active” and the validity is extended depending on the recharge value.
Deactive: After the end of the “Inactive” status period, if no recharge is made, the account goes into “Inactive” status for 14 days and the number is prepared for deletion.
A number in “Inactive” status can be reactivated with two options:
Option 1: By making the payment of €1.50 with the right to keep the credit. In this way, the number returns to “Inactive” status, which means that it can be recharged with any value to be activated. The deadline for reactivation is 14 days, while the deadline for recharge is 7 days.
Option 2: By making the payment of €2.99, which returns the number to “Active” status with a validity of 30 days and leaves €2.00 credit in the account.

Frequently asked questions about eSIM

1. What is eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card that is integrated as software into your device. Just like a physical SIM card, an eSIM stores the data needed to use the VALA network on your device. An eSIM simply means a SIM embedded in the device, but it differs from a physical SIM in that the eSIM is integrated into your device. With a few simple steps, you’ll be ready to make calls, send messages, and browse the web.

2. How does eSIM work?

eSIM has the same function as a physical SIM card; only the activation method differs. You can install Vala eSIM on a device that supports eSIM technology. The eSIM, after installation on your device, will contain the data with which you identify yourself as a user of VALA services. To install the Vala eSIM profile, you must scan the QR code you received at the point of sale. The option to download an eSIM profile can be found in the settings of your device, under “Add eSIM”. The device (often a phone) on which you activate the eSIM by scanning the QR code must be connected to the internet via a WiFi network.

3. Does the eSIM have all the features of a physical SIM? (serial number, PIN/PUK?)

Yes. eSIM has the same features as a physical SIM, namely a serial number and PIN/PUK numbers that you can use for additional security. The innovation in the case of the eSIM is the EID identification number of the device’s eSIM chip and the QR code for activation. The internal memory of the eSIM allows you to store contacts just like a physical SIM. Also, deleting the eSIM profile from the device deletes all data stored on the eSIM.

4. What is the main difference between a physical SIM and an eSIM?

Physical SIM is a physical card, while eSIM is a virtual (software) card, which is installed by scanning a QR code. eSIM is characterized by ease of activation, greater flexibility, more phone numbers on one device.

5. How can I activate an eSIM?

To activate an eSIM, you must visit one of our points of sale to obtain a QR code.

6. What is the QR code for eSIM?

The eSIM activation code is the QR code you receive from us when you activate a new line with eSIM or when you replace your physical SIM with an eSIM. You need the activation code to activate the eSIM on your device.

7. Can I use the QR code multiple times?

You can only use/install the QR code once and only on one device. The same code cannot be used/installed by you or others on another device. If you want to use/install the eSIM on another device, you must request a new QR code for activation at one of Vala’s points of sale.

8. How many times can you try to scan the Vala eSIM QR code?

When attempting to install the Vala eSIM profile, you can scan the QR code up to 5 times. After 5 unsuccessful attempts, you must apply for a new QR code.

9. Can I use an eSIM on multiple devices simultaneously?

No. The eSIM is only linked to a specific device.

10. Can I use eSIM in parallel with a physical SIM on a device?

Your phone number cannot be used on both a physical SIM and an eSIM at the same time. You can use an eSIM in parallel with a physical SIM on a device only if the numbers are different.

11. Is eSIM secure?

eSIM offers a higher level of security for consumer data, due to encryption and service verification. A physical SIM can be more easily misused or lost.

12. Will the eSIM be valid?

Yes. The validity is the same as for a physical SIM.

13. If I change my phone, can I use the same QR code?

No, because for a new device, a new QR code must be generated, which you must obtain at the points of sale.

14. Is there a charge for generating a new QR code from eSIM to eSIM?

Yes. There is a fee for generating each new QR code.

15. Can I get a physical SIM again if I have an eSIM activated?

Yes. You can switch from eSIM to physical SIM by visiting our points of sale to regenerate your number.

16. If I have an active package and switch from SIM to eSIM, what happens to the package?

The package remains. This is the same as regenerating a number from physical SIM to physical SIM.

17. Can the number lose its validity if I switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM?

You can switch from physical SIM to eSIM without any change in validity or content.

19. What happens to the contact numbers I have on my SIM after I switch to eSIM?

First, make sure you have all your contacts on your physical SIM. If you do, back up your contacts (on Google, iOS) to restore them later when you activate the eSIM profile.

20. Does eSIM support all networks (2G, 3G, 4G)?

Yes. eSIM supports all networks.

21. What should be done in case of loss of the device on which the eSIM is installed?

The same procedure applies as in the case of a physical SIM. That is, you call the QTH (Call Center: 080010000) to block the lost number and present yourself at one of the points of sale to receive a new QR code for the same number.

22. What if my eSIM profile is accidentally deleted?

You need to visit one of our points of sale for a new QR code. After activating the new profile on the device, you can continue to use Vala services with your number just like with a physical SIM.

23. What should I do if I give/gift my device with eSIM activated to someone?

You must deactivate/delete the eSIM profile from the device you want to give/gift to someone, otherwise you will not be able to transfer the eSIM to the new device. You must also visit one of our points of sale to generate a new QR code for the same number.

24. How can I deactivate/delete an eSIM profile?

Deactivation is done on your device. If you change your phone, you must deactivate the eSIM on your old phone in advance and get a new QR code at our points of sale.

25. Can I use two or more eSIM profiles on one device?

Not all devices that can install an e-SIM allow the use of two e-SIMs at the same time. You should read the device specification to know how many e-SIMs can be installed and how many of them can be used simultaneously.

26. Which devices support eSIM technology?
The vast majority of new technological devices support eSIM technology, such as: smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, GPS devices, POS, laptops.

– Almost all major phone manufacturers now have eSim technology in their phones. Almost all iPhones, since the iPhone X, have it. Google Pixel 6, 7, 8, and the foldable series have it. So do Samsung Galaxy S21, S22, S23, and Z Fold/Flip 3, 4, and 5 phones. Also have the newest Motorola Edge+ and Motorola Razr+ foldable and Razr models, as well as the OnePlus 11 and one Plus Open.

– If your device has eSim built-in, in ‘Settings’ you will find the options (eSim configuration) for switching from one operator to another and for managing your accounts. If you use dual-SIM, eSim technology allows for multiple accounts and switching between them is extremely easy.

– Laptops that support cellular connectivity mostly establish the connection via eSim technology. This includes the Surface Pro X and various models from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung. Apple laptops do not yet support eSim.
